This year our project emphasizes practicability and functionality while maintaining the overall ascetic of the space. Boundary House Restaurant’s covered outdoor deck, while very popular with customers, was mostly unusable in inclement weather. They needed a solution that would allow them to utilize the space in wind, rain and cooler temperatures. We suggested Storm Tex roll down clear panels. These panels can be individually raised or lowered for each opening via one remote control. The clear panel allows light into the space while providing protection from the elements. And since they are independently operated the staff can select which panels to close, open or position part way. On good days the panels are rolled up leaving the deck open and on bad days patrons can still enjoy the space comfortably. The owners have reported back to us that their staff and customers love them! While this was a commercial application, Storm Tex panels are also appropriate in residential settings that would beneĕt from protection from the elements
